Certificate III Subjects

The selection of subjects lays a strong foundation for a Christian lifestyle and vocation. Our aim is to cultivate a deep understanding of the Bible, fortify faith, and hone the ministry skills of our students, empowering them to wholeheartedly serve the Lord Jesus Christ.
While it is not required or always possible, we actively encourage students to immerse themselves in practical ministry experiences guided by a mentor, facilitating the integration of Biblical knowledge into real-world situations. These subjects enrich students spiritually and equip them with insights applicable across diverse professional options.
The program comprises eight (8) units, structured as follows:
– 2 Core Units
– 6 Elective Units
Additionally, students have the flexibility to select up to two units from endorsed Training Packages or accredited courses, ensuring alignment with their ministry objectives. For further clarification, students are encouraged to reach out to the college’s principal.
Ultimately, any requests for substitutions will be carefully considered by the Principal, who holds the final decision-making authority.

Vision College has meticulously chosen subjects to fulfill the required units for the Certificate III in Christian Ministry and Theology. These units are categorized into “Core Units” and “Elective Units,” with completion of the core units being mandatory.

To accommodate our students’ diverse learning needs, we offer flexibility in selecting elective units. Students have three options:
1.   Complete the studies as presented
2.   Request alternative subjects to fulfill the unit requirements.
3.   Request up to two units from any other accredited Certificate III course, provided these units are relevant to their desired ministry outcome.
While Vision College has nominated specific subjects from its curriculum to meet these units, students are welcome to request alternative study options to fulfill the unit requirements provided the alternative subject meets the unit requirements.
Note: Electives taken from another field will be completed through our online training portal.
The Principal’s decision regarding substitution requests is final. We encourage students to reach out for further clarification or assistance in tailoring their course to their individual goals.

Biblical Studies

Students must select 8 units to complete the 11236NAT Certificate III in Christian Ministry and Theology. This selection must include the the core units plus any 6 units from the options below. Subjects may be selected in any order of preference.
Alternative subjects may be selected from the Study Streams provided they meet the unit requirements, the final decision on an alternative rests with the Principal of the College.
Students are provided with a study book, assessment and instructions to satisfy the unit.
No more than 2 units from the Ministry Skills options may be included in the 6 electives.

Up to two electives can be selected from any endorsed Training Package or accredited course – these units must be relevant to the work outcome of the student.


These units shall be completed through the Vision Colleges online training portal, or may be academically transferred from another Certificate III.

Our “Online Training Portal”. The portal provides students with a comprehensive and interactive learning and training program. Various assignments are presented to teach and determine competency in the units required. It is helpful, but not required, for a student to be involved in a local church or community-based program under qualified leadership and document their work experience for each unit to assist in establishing competencies
