Local Church Bible College

The local church is the bedrock of access to Christian learning.  Often the local church does not possess the resources or the belief that they can start their own bible college.  We partner with the local church to overcome this belief.

Vision Colleges Provides You With Customised Biblical Study Options

We are not all the same. Our ministries are unique, our training and ministry needs vary.  Some people “just want to learn the Word”. Others are preparing for ministry; at a ministerial level or as an evangelist. Then again, other students are in some form of leadership. Some students are young, others are old, some experienced others less so. These individual needs vary so much that we have chosen to be flexible.

Vision Colleges Partners With Local Churches

Students interested in ministry training are encouraged to work with their pastor and the ministry team of their local church. While we provide Biblical teaching, the local church offers hands-on practical training. In addition to individual studies, we also offer the Local Church Bible College option to those churches seeking to teach, train, and develop the ministry skills of their members. Below are some very general guidelines with links to more detailed information to help you select the option best suited to your personal needs.

Start A Bible College

1. Recognised Study Options

While not accredited, the Recognised studies are accepted by many churches and mission organisations for ministry training and are suitable for personal development. These study options are the original Vision Christian College program.

All of our studies are completed by distance education.  We will send you your textbook by mail or email as you prefer.  We have four award levels, from a Certificate in Biblical Studies to a Diploma of Biblical Theology.

This course does not utilise a set curriculum.

Rather we allow the student to select the subject of most relevance or importance to them at any given time, thus making Bible College study of more excellent personal value.

Who Should Use The Recognised Study Program?

2. Accredited Study Options

ASQA accredits the Study options offered in the Christian Ministry and Theology through Vision International College.

The Study choices are in two streams,

1 Theology,  these are undertaken by post in book form or by email, in which case we send you the same materials as a PDF file;

2 Practical elective studies these subjects are offered through our online training portal.

We offer Certificate III to the Graduate Diploma of Christian Ministry and Theology, six levels of awards.

3. Pastoral Enrichment

Pastors are often thrown into the deep end of situations and face issues beyond their experience.

The Pastoral Development (Enrichment) Programme is taken from our Counselling stream. This program is prepared to assist pastors in developing Christian counselling skills.

Students select subjects on an “as needs” basis providing specific tools to meet individual needs. While there is no requirement to achieve a certain number of subjects, any ten topics qualify as a Diploma of Christian Counselling.

The Texas University Of Theology (TxUT) offers degrees under the Freedom of Religion act and are classified as Religious Exempt studies.

The studies are as significant and demanding as a secular degree; however, they are for ministry training in particular and not in competition with secular degrees and deal with the Word of God and Christian Ministry.

The studies are entirely by distance education.

5. Local Church Bible College

We also specialise in helping local churches to develop their bible college using our materials.

The partnership between Vision Colleges and the local church is very effective as a ministry partnership, that is to say, that Vision Colleges are:

1.   None Intrusive. We do not dictate terms to the local church in its operation or style as a condition of working with us.

2.  We provide what the local church ministry often cannot – effective teaching material that is relevant, academically strong, faith-building, affordable and internationally recognised. We take care of the assessments, student records and issue the awards.

3.   The local ministry team teaches and develops the ministry skills of the members.

We firmly believe we have the best teaching material, and that the best people to teach, train, and develop the practical skills of ministry are the local ministry team; the pastors with a heart for the members who know and understand them, and the local needs church and community.

The local church runs the college to best suit the local situation.

We also offer the studies for informal study groups with or without the option of assessments to nurture our understanding of the Word of God, enhance fellowship and build relationships.
