This unit explains and discusses the theology of an individual who has been influential on Christian theology and church practice. It requires the ability to analyse theology with attention to historical and social context; to assess the impact of the individual’s theology on a community, and to consider differing perspectives on the individual and their views.
The unit applies to individuals who need to understand the theology and influence of a founding figure or other influential person in the church and apply their understanding in the context of teaching, preaching or leadership of a community.
This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to recognise and interact productively with diverse groups of individuals in the workplace. It covers responding to and working effectively with individual differences that might be encountered during the course of work.
The unit applies to individuals who work in a variety of contexts where they will be expected to interact with diverse groups of individuals. They may also provide some leadership and guidance to others and have some limited responsibility for the output of others.

Knowledge Evidence
The candidate must show evidence of the ability to complete tasks outlined in the elements and performance criteria of this unit, manage tasks and manage contingencies in the context of the job role. There must be demonstrated evidence that the candidate has:
- critically analysed the views of a theologian and his/her influence on the church
- articulated the implications of a theologian’s views for a specific contemporary context
In the course of the above, the candidate must:
- demonstrate knowledge of the theologian’s historical context
use a minimum of five sources and resources suited to the task and the organisational context
Performance Evidence
The candidate must show evidence of the ability to complete tasks outlined in the elements and performance criteria of this unit, manage tasks and manage contingencies in the context of the job role. There must be demonstrated evidence that the candidate has:
